But retired customer service assistant Dawn from Liverpool seemed unduly excited during the rounds.
At one point she even yelled “go on lad!” and threw her hands in the air.
Dawn’s antics on the show irritated viewers, who begged for her to “calm down” on social media, with several saying she was “screaming like a banshee.”
One complained: “FFS Dawn, calm down!”
A second added: “Dawn’s screaming like a banshee.”
A third penned: “Calm down, Dawn you are not riding a roller coaster.”
A fourth fumed: “Dawn is getting right on my t**s.”
A fifth raged: “Someone get this Dawn to shut the f**k up.”
She made it to the final two alongside drama graduate Hannah, proving that her over-the-top exuberance paid off.
Dawn defeated Hannah and landed a spot in the final.
