EASTENDERS legend Ross Kemp looked almost unrecognisable with a luscious head of hair as he appeared on GMB.

The actor and TV personality was welcomed onto Thursday’s edition of the flagship ITV breakfast programme by Susanna Reid and Ben Shephard.

Ross, 59, was promoting his new book, Take Nothing For Granted – a pun on the EastEnders role he is best known for – on Good Morning Britain.

The breakfast presenting pair decided they would take a sneak peek of the hardback to show off some of his best memories.

They opened the new memoir to the pages that were full of images, which included the actor’s first ever headshot that he used for casting purposes.

Alongside the black and white image which showed locks of thick curly hair, another image also showed the former soap star in an action shot where he played Rugby.

Ross looked like he was starting to loose hair at the top of his head, however he still looked different than his appearance on the morning show.

During the discussion, Ben, 48, also revealed that he used to play with the star but on a rival team in their shared league as they reminisced on their fond memories.

Meanwhile, the star admitted how he used to earn extra money when he was in EastEnders whilst he was not meant to be on set.

Ross would make sure he appeared in the background of scenes such as in the Queen Vic, so he could charge bosses an extra fee for appearing in more episodes.

He explained: “If you were doing three days in the Vic, which you would normally do, I would normally be standing back.

“I’d work out that I was not in the middle episode that they were shooting that day and obviously cameras like the one pointing at me now has a red light on top of it when it’s recording.

So I got on very well with the camera guys and I’d say ‘Is this episode 235 and not episode 234 or 233’ and they’d go ‘Yes’, I’m not in that one, well I am now’.”

“Big Ron, er pint and pork scratchings was it? Ok, mate, I’ll be back in a second. Episode fee. They soon cottoned on to me I’ll have to say.”

Meanwhile the Tipping Point presenter interjected as he exclaimed: “Did they? So there’s a bit of improv in there as well?”, where Ross confirmed that it was firmly in the affirmative.
